A beautiful dusky sunset....a dark bomber jet screams across the orange sky, dropping napalm across the horizon. The dragonfly lands on the outstretched leaf. Slowly it realizes it has taken rest upon the deadly Venus flytrap as its green jaws close around it. Lightning strikes and the beast is electrified, bringing it to life. Horrific in countenance, yet beautifully innocent like a newborn baby in its mind.

Beauty and horror. Tornadoes and a soft breeze. This is the realm of the House of Commons.

Springing from their roots in punk and loud 90's-stoner rock, while contrasting with melody and contemplative ambience, the HoC's music is an allegory of life...light and dark, pleasure and pain.

While often taking nods from bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Alice in Chains, they still manage to stay current and relevant in an ever changing musical landscape. Never reinventing, but always reimagining!

Besides a brief hiatus, the band has been together for nearly 20 years. Playing with the confidence of seasoned musicians and the reckless abandon and excitement of their first time.

The band released the "Digital Stone Age" EP in 2008 and just recently released the "Ouroboros" EP in July 2024. This new offering (after a long incubation period and navigating the challenges of working during the pandemic) embodies the new incarnation and evolution of their music.

Currently, the band is launching back into the live music scene across Toronto and Ontario with sights set on touring Quebec and parts of Northeastern United States. As well, Matt Hardstaff (the 5th Man) is producing a brand new set of music videos to support their recent EP.
